Cold and under heat rolling
Rolling is classified according to the temperature of the metal rolled. If the temperature of the metal is above its recrystallization temperature, then the process is known as hot rolling. If the temperature of the metal is below its recrystallization temperature, the process is known as cold rolling.
Galvanizing
Galvanizing, or galvanization, is a manufacturing process where a coating of zinc is applied to steel or iron to offer protection and prevent rusting. There are several galvanizing processes available, but the most commonly offered and used method is called hot-dip galvanizing.
Plasma cutting
Plasma cutting (plasma arc cutting) is a melting process in which a jet of ionised gas at temperatures above 20,000°C is used to melt and expel material from the cut. During the process, an electric arc is struck between an electrode (cathode) and the workpiece (anode).
Milling work
A milling machine removes material from a work piece by rotating a cutting tool (cutter) and moving it into the work piece. Milling machines, either vertical or hori- zontal, are usually used to machine flat and irregularly shaped surfaces and can be used to drill, bore, and cut gears, threads, and slots.
Forming, threading
Thread forming is a manufacturing process that involves the creation of internal threading. Internal threading, of course, is threading found inside of an object. With thread forming, a shaped tool known as a thread rolling die is pressed using a machine.
Grinding and polishing of steel and alloys
Grinding. Such metal processing is carried out using abrasive materials. Depending on how the sanding was done, the parts can have a different visual effect. If two hard surfaces with an abrasive between them are moved towards each other, the product will become dull. Applying the abrasive to a soft surface can result in a shiny surface with characteristic scratches during metal grinding.
Polishing. Such treatment of steel or alloy means its interaction with an aggressive environment. Polishing of metal surfaces can be done as the last stage of processing after grinding or as an independent procedure. In the latter case, the metal must be cleaned before polishing. The steel is polished with a special leather circle on which a mixture of tin and zinc is applied. As alloys are processed, the components of this mixture may change. At the end of the procedure, the product must be dried. After polishing, the surface of the parts becomes a mirror.
